Las Vegas – Demolition has begun on at least one Station Casino property that was permanently shuttered this year.
Cranes and other construction crews could be seen tearing apart the former Texas Station off Rancho Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard on Monday.
Texas Station is one of four properties that Station Casinos shut down in recent months. The others are Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho and Wild Wild West.
The company has said that all four buildings will be demolished. The property for the first three casinos will be sold, contingent on the real estate not being used to build a gaming establishment.
Red Rock Resorts, Station Casinos’ parent company, said it will keep and redevelop the site of Wild Wild West.
This comes as the company continues construction on Durango, a new casino-resort located in the southwest valley.
